I build the plumbing between systems that were never meant to talk.

Ten years of backend engineering, most of it in Go. Ad exchanges bidding in milliseconds, carrier messages turning into delivery statuses, hospital imaging routed to AI vendors. Different industries, same problem underneath — make two systems that know nothing about each other behave like one.

01 — Focus

Three things I keep getting hired for

Go

Distributed systems

Event-driven microservices built with DDD and CQRS, designed to survive partial failure rather than pretend it won't happen. Ten from scratch at Kramp, twenty at Agathsya, all provisioned as code. I reach for Go because boring is exactly what you want at 3am.

FHIR

Healthcare interoperability

FHIR R4B, XDS, DICOMweb and mCSD, specifically in the Dutch landscape — where the standard is only half the problem and the vendors are the other half. Right now that means moving imaging studies between hospitals and AI vendors.

Making slow things fast

A Kotlin service rewritten in Go for a 50%+ throughput gain. An ad-serving backend taken from 12k to 20k requests per second while infrastructure cost fell about 40%. The win is almost always in the architecture, not the micro-optimisation.

Where I've been

  1. Nov 2025 — Present

    Founda Health Senior Software Engineer

    Amsterdam, NL

Healthcare interoperability for the Dutch market. I reworked the architecture of AI Hub — the platform that routes hospital imaging studies to third-party AI vendors — and led it through to the final demo.

    • Built the core of AI Hub in Go: a DICOMweb streaming service, Temporal workflows for orchestration, FHIR R4B vendor notifications and patient data enrichment.
    • Implemented Dutch generic functions, including mCSD for care services discovery.
    • Set up OpenTelemetry pipelines into ClickHouse and led the analytics deployment.

  2. May 2022 — Oct 2025

    Kramp Software Engineer IV

    Utrecht, NL

Three and a half years on a Go microservices platform behind agricultural parts distribution across Europe. Shipping, product lifecycle, translations, notifications — mostly the services other teams end up depending on.

    • Rebuilt the Visibility Service from Kotlin to Go: 50%+ throughput gain and a materially lower latency profile.
    • Owned the shipping domain integration, parsing carrier messages into delivery statuses in Go and Terraform.
    • Built the Product Life Cycle services on GCP; by the end of that year every team depended on them.
    • Delivered an external tenant's account migration onto the platform, plus Communication Notification V2 — now powering Quotation Proposals.
    • Wrote 10+ DDD microservices from scratch with CQRS, all provisioned with Terraform.

  3. Apr 2021 — Feb 2022

    Agathsya Technologies Senior Software Engineer

    Bengaluru, IN

Led the team that shipped the MVP of a truck aggregation platform for the Dubai market — matching consignors and consignees into trips, modelled as a graph because the relationships were the product.

    • Designed the layered microservice architecture for order management and built the domain, gateway and data layers — 20+ services in Go.
    • Modelled trip generation and logistics relationships in Dgraph.

  4. May 2016 — Mar 2021

    Mobobeat Software Engineer

    Goa, IN

Five years in adtech, which is a good place to learn latency. I built the traffic backend and then the exchange that bid on it.

    • Designed and built the traffic backend and APIs for an ad-serving platform in Go and NodeJS on GCP.
    • Built an RTB ad exchange and SSP ad server to IAB OpenRTB 2.5, plus the Android SDK publishers integrated with.
    • The Go rewrite cut server cost by roughly 40% while taking click traffic from 12k to 20k requests per second.

03 — Selected work

Things I've built

01

AI Hub

Imaging studies, routed to AI vendors

Takes a hospital's imaging study, streams it over DICOMweb, enriches it with FHIR patient data, hands it to a third-party AI vendor and notifies everyone involved when the result comes back. Orchestrated with Temporal, so a half-finished study is never a lost study.

  • Go
  • DICOMweb
  • FHIR R4B
  • Temporal

02

RTB Ad Exchange

OpenRTB 2.5, end to end

A real-time bidding exchange and SSP ad server built to the IAB OpenRTB 2.5 spec, plus the Android SDK publishers used to plug into it. Auctions settle inside a time budget no human ever notices.

  • Go
  • OpenRTB
  • Android SDK

03

Product Life Cycle

The service everyone else depended on

Go services on GCP modelling where a product sits in its life — introduced, active, phasing out, gone. Unglamorous, and load-bearing for every other team's roadmap that year.

  • Go
  • GCP
  • Terraform
  • CQRS

04

Logistics Platform

Trucks, trips and a graph database

MVP of a truck aggregation platform for the Dubai market. Consignors and consignees on one side, available capacity on the other, trip generation in between — modelled in Dgraph.

  • Go
  • Dgraph
  • Microservices

05

Visibility Service

Kotlin out, Go in

A rewrite rather than a rescue. Same contract, same behaviour, 50%+ more throughput and a latency profile that stopped turning up in incident reviews.

05 — Contact

Let's talk.

Interested in Go, distributed systems and healthcare interoperability — especially anything in the Dutch or wider European interop landscape. Also happy to talk adtech latency tricks with anyone who will still listen.
